Copywriting
Writing has always been my passion. From filling notebooks with poems and stories as a child to crafting professional scripts for brands like TalentRecap, the Seattle International Film Festival, and DHL, I’ve always been fascinated by the power of the written word. While scriptwriting has become my specialty, I’ve also had the privilege of contributing to impactful causes, including the Social Justice Film Festival, PopUpJustice, and The Rensselaerville Institute.
In addition to everything on this page, I wrote the scripts for many of the videos on my Video Production page as well.
Seattle International Film Festival
At the Seattle International Film Festival, I had the opportunity to craft engaging marketing emails that drove ticket sales and connected audiences with the magic of cinema. Given a diverse list of films, I strategically grouped them by themes—like "LGBT But Happy" or "Late Night Madness"—to appeal to distinct audience segments. Each email was a blend of captivating headlines, compelling descriptions, and strong calls to action, designed to spark curiosity and inspire clicks. My work paid off: open rates were consistently 12% higher than my colleagues, and 72% of my films were at least 80% full - which was 10% over target. Writing for SIFF wasn’t just work—it was storytelling in the service of storytelling, that delivered results.
Justice In Motion
As the scriptwriter for Justice In Motion: The Social Justice Film Report, I brought compelling stories to life for the Social Justice Film Institute’s podcast. For interview episodes, I conducted in-depth research and crafted thoughtful, probing questions to spark engaging conversations. For narrative episodes, I created immersive audio documentaries exploring key themes in social justice filmmaking. One of my proudest achievements was a two-part series examining the depiction of police in cinema—analyzing how these portrayals both shaped and reflected society’s evolving attitudes. This work was a powerful blend of storytelling, analysis, and advocacy, highlighting the intersection of film and social justice.
DHL
Writing scripts for DHL’s training video series was a rewarding challenge. Tasked with turning a brief on employee training best practices into engaging content, I worked to infuse personality and clarity into the scripts, elevating them beyond the standard training video format while still adhering to the DHL brand voice. By using relatable scenarios and conversational language (and the occasional surprise banana), I made the material more accessible and engaging for employees. Client feedback was overwhelmingly positive, praising the balance of professionalism and creativity. I embraced the revision process, knowing feedback is essential for delivering the best results. The final product not only met expectations but helped DHL deliver impactful, effective training content.
